Privacy policy.

be nice ("the app") is published by Alvarez Digital Solutions LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect, which is nothing, and why you can trust that.

Plain summary

We do not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data or usage data. Ever. Everything you write, log, or configure in be nice lives only on your device. No accounts. No cloud. No analytics. No tracking. No ads.

What data the app handles

The app stores the following locally on your device only (via your device's built-in app storage):

  • Your completed kindness goals and log entries
  • Your reflection text, mood selections, and optional custom mood words
  • Your streak and calendar history
  • Your weekly reflection summaries
  • Your notification preferences (time, on/off)
  • Whether onboarding has been completed

None of this leaves your device. We have no servers that receive it. If you delete the app, this data is deleted with it.

What we do not do

  • We do not require an account, email, phone number, or any identifier to use the app.
  • We do not use third-party analytics (no Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Amplitude, Mixpanel, Segment, Sentry crash reporting, etc.).
  • We do not include advertising or advertising identifiers.
  • We do not use cookies, pixels, or tracking SDKs.
  • We do not access your contacts, photos, location, microphone, or camera.

Permissions the app requests

  • Notifications: so we can send you a gentle daily reminder at the time you choose. You control whether this is enabled in your device settings or in the app's Settings screen. Notifications are scheduled and delivered entirely on-device.

That's the only permission the app requests.

Sending feedback and rating the app

be nice includes two optional buttons that open outside the app:

  • Send feedback opens a feedback form on our website in your browser. Using it is entirely your choice. You can send feedback anonymously, or include your contact details if you would like a reply. Anything you submit there is handled under the privacy terms of our website, not collected by the app itself.
  • Rate be nice opens the App Store or Google Play listing so you can leave a rating. The app does not see or store your rating.

Neither button sends any of your on-device data. Your logs, reflections, streaks, and moods never leave your device, as described above.

Children's privacy

The app is not directed at children under 13. It does not knowingly collect data from anyone, of any age.

Changes to this policy

If we ever add functionality that collects data (for example, optional cloud backup), we will update this policy, update the app's data-safety disclosures in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, and notify users through the app itself before the change takes effect.
